The weekend of Hurricane Irene, Nikki & Kris took the train to Middletown and we were going to have a "girls only weekend". Unfortunately Irene messed up our plans but we still had fun. Kathy & I picked up the girls at the train station on Friday around 7:45pm. We drove straight to the bowling alley. Kathy wouldn't play but the rest of us had a good time. Too bad we weren't in time for "cosmic bowling". Next time. :-)

The next day after a breakfast of waffles and bacon, the girls went to meet Cheryl's new baby, Max. Cute. We had to make the requisite Walmart shopping trek and Kathy made her delicious ribs and corn souffle. We packed up and drove home at 3pm. It was one of the easiest drives I ever encountered. The GW was empty which was eerie. Luckily there was no rain most of the way. Got back to the city just in time to hunker down.
