City Girl Gone Country - Day 1/2

I am home from a 6 day trip to Daniel & Willy's New Hampshire hamlet! With Fanny & Odilia. Willy was already up there - getting ready for us. Daniel picked me up and drove me to Fanny's where we switched cars and met up with Odilia coming from Jersey to Jackson Heights by subway. Amazingly it worked like clockwork!  We were on the road by 10am and made one pit-stop in Vermont. I had made sandwiches (proscuitto, brie, tomato, lettuce, honey mustard on a French baguette) for the ride.

It rained on and off throughout our trip and was raining when we arrived six and half hours later but Willy had out-stretched arms to greet us.  Here's the rest in photos:

The first morning - beautiful after the storm!

We had our meals under that big umbrella
Every morning we sipped fragrant and strong coffee out here
Hummingbird feeder above chair

Our exquisite views every morning and afternoon and evening

There are many seating "stations" throughout their property
Breakfast the first morning - home baked popovers, fresh cut melon, various jams
water with lemon verbena from the garden

The pond which Willy recently cleared out
A bit of a steep trek to get here
Daniel was surprised to see how much was accomplished
Fanny
The road back from the pond leading up to the driveway
Relaxing with a book
Couldn't decide which was the better spot
Relaxing not for long.  Took a drive to see some sights - breath-taking
Odilia learning how to use the panoramic feature on her phone

My panoramic on the Nexxus
Heart shaped ivy
Odilia
Covered Bridge

Roadside ice cream shop - on the honor system

We got peach, mint chocolate chip, maple walnut and raspberry sorbet
Lunch
Chicken salad made from roasted chicken from night before...delish!
Cheeseboard, grapes and fresh lychee
In the evening, Willy had arranged for us to see a bluegrass folk music duo named Mandolin Orange in Maine.  It was a delightful show!
