Lobster, Please!!

Although Winnie's birthday is June 26th, like me, she has no problem celebrating month(s) later!  I had already planned to take her for the lobster special on City Island (like we did in 2010) but she was under the weather and asked for a rain-check.  Today it was redeemed!

We started with some shopping at Rego Center. Visiting Century 21, Kohl's, Ulta and Aldi's.  After all that, we worked up a nice appetite.

The lobster special is pretty amazing.  Start with the garlic-loaded garlic loaf.  You can see the tiny chunks of garlic and parsley dotted throughout the bread.  But that is offered to all the tables.  The lobster special consists of:  Soup or salad.  We always get the New England clam chowder.  Creamy, salty and each spoonful gets you some clam.  The whole lobster (boiled or broiled - we get broiled) which is always cooked to perfection with toasted breadcrumbs and accompanied with 2 clams casino and a butterflied shrimp - clarified butter and lemon wedges round off the dish.  Also you have a choice of baked potato, french fries, linguine or rice. We opted for the linguine with garlic and oil.  Oh yeah...lots of garlic going around but since we weren't planning on kissing anyone or each other...we went for it!

To end the meal was coffee and dessert.  A choice of carrot cake, chocolate cake, pound cake or ice cream.  I had the chocolate cake and Winnie, the carrot but we barely were able to finish it.

All of this....and I do mean...ALL....is $17.95pp.  Happy Day!
