We Are Family..I've Got All My Sisters With Me

Last year, March 13th...the Leong family got together to celebrate Chinese New Year in Chinatown with my mother. It was late..way past New Year's but Kathy had been out of town and this was the earliest date where everyone was available. Unfortunately it was also the day where NY might have had a hurricane! We had torrential rains!

This year...Feb 13th...coincidence that it is also a date of the 13th...the Leong family got together for our annual celebration. This time, the day was clear and getting warmer from our frost-filled days.

We ate at the newly renovated Hop Shing and my mother chose the menu of 8 dishes:
Sauteed conch with snap peas, Shrimp with broccoli and walnuts, Crispy skin chicken, Steak cubes with veggies, Sauteed eggplant, Peking pork chop, Roast pork with string beans and a Chinese green veggie. With 11 people in attendance, we asked for 10 bowls of rice and for some reason the waiter tried to talk us out of having what he felt was alot of rice!! Which meant we were determined to not leave a grain! LOL
